Help With Starting An Empire

Hello everyone,

I am what everyone calls a newbie or virgin real estate investor. I have read a couple of books and have seen the usual infomercials and have seen many people make it big and many fail. I have always been told to surround myself with wise counsel and around people whose success i want to emulate. After some research and years of sitting on the fence i have decided to go full force in real estate investing. I have taken some crucial steps in to committing myself to my own success. I have joined a few REI Clubs, and spoke with someone that would mentor me as a type of partner which i am very excited about. But one thing is missing from the several books that i have read. they only talk specifically about strategies rather than the beginning of the business. I am new and i have no clue where to start? My question is, starting a real estate investing business what are the first initial things do i have to have in place before diving in to my first deal? i have heard a buyers list, sellers list, a dream team, but what comprises of a dream team? also do i need a business lic. What are the things i need in place before i start? Can any successful / professional investors offer any suggestions, advice, in facing this dilemma? I want to start and i want to be productive rather than just being busy and spinning my wheels.

Have you listened to the BP Podcasts yet? Almost all of the guests talked about how they got started, mistakes they made, things they would do differently, etc. That might help give you some inspriation and ideas about getting the ball rolling.
