Insurance providers for demolition contractor

Hey BP,

I recently started a small demolition contracting LLC. We do residential demolitions of decks, drywall, insulation, and the like (no heavy machinery). Can anyone recommend a small business insurance provider?

@Nathaniel J Mott in the insurance world, your correct classification is more in line with being a contractor/remodeler.  I have even seen your type of work insured as janitorial & site cleaning.  Tell the agent your a contractor who remodels single family homes, but doesn't do the finish work.

In the insurance world, a demolition contractor will use heavy equipment or explosives to completely remove structures from a site.

*** If your not removing entire structures, don't tell agents you need demolition insurance.  If you do, you'll spend all your time convincing underwriters your not blowing stuff up.
