Insurance guy who is now in love with Real Estate.

Posted

I’m a insurance agent who recently helped a buddy get great coverage and saves close to 65 grand on his portfolio. He has close to 1600 units and he runs a unreal business.

I have worked hard to make sure I do the best job I could. I’ve educated myself by reading 3 books, tons of podcast and countless hours talking to carriers and others to make sure I am doing the best job I could.

Doing this...I fell in love with the real estate. Now, I can’t stop thinking about investing and building my own book of business. The problem is, I work for one of the best brokers in the insurance business, who truly works hard for their clients, which I love.

Is there a problem, from an integrity standpoint, taking future commission I earned off of people giving me business, and giving it right back to them to invest?

is it profitable? i have my life & health license.  but haven't done anything with it.

Kirk, the health and life business has been contracting the last few years, so I would steer you to start in P&C.  I’d be happy to answer any questions you have offline.
