Trying to start our LLC in Hawaii for real estate investing.

My husband and I are trying to start our real estate investing LLC in Hawaii, however when registering online it's asking us to input an EIN number. Is it necessary to have one for a real estate investing company that has no employees? And if so, how do I get one? Thank you in advance.
