IRS revises EIN app process; Companies cannot sponsor companies
So apparently the IRS has revised the EIN application process. The change will prohibit entities from using their own EINs to obtain additional EINs. Here is the article directly from the IRS website: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-revises-ein-application-process-seeks-to-enhance-security
I am now concerned that by requiring an individual to be the "responsible party", the liability is now on the individual rather than the entity acting as the general partner. Were you aware of the change? If so, what will you do to work past this?
Are should we carry on as normal? Thank you in advance for your input!
