No experience or licensing required?

Good evening I have a question. I have no experience or real estate license and have been swarmed by these info commercials and seminars that state I do not need experience or a license to get into the real estate business. Is this true? Secondly, I am interested in wholesale and short sales, but have little to no money to invest in properties plus my credit is...well the bank would laugh before telling me no. Someone like me, bad credit, no experience, no license, a wife, mother, and Christian, how can I get started in the real estate business?
