Is it dumb to invest in both Roth & SEP IRA... and REI???

Hello All,

I am wondering if I should continue contributing to both my Roth IRA and my SEP IRA? (especially if I begin REI)

I am in my early 30s and have been self-employed for the past few years. I generally max out my Roth IRA and contribute the same amount to my SEP IRA. I plan to purchase my 1st property this year (already put in some offers & am in negotiations).

Grant Cardone recommends getting our money out of the stock market and into real estate. On the other hand, similar threads on the BiggerPockets forum advocate diversification (aka doing both REI and IRAs).

That said...

  1. Should I stop contributing to my IRAs and focus solely on REI (like Grant Cardone says)?
  2. Or should I contribute only to my Roth IRA (for tax purposes) while doing REI?
  3. Or should I continue contributing to both my Roth & SEP IRAs as well as REI?

What do you think?
