How to start a Rental Property Portfolio Biz

I want to build a rental property portfolio. I’ve heard several investor say “It’s best to do an LLC for rental properties”. I do agree with that statement, but how do you obtain a conventional loan under an LLC? I would assume the bank wants some type of financial history for the LLC to even consider offering a mortgage. Are most new investors getting a mortgage under their own name and transferring it to the LLC? If so, do banks allow that? I know I am able to get fInancIng for myself, but as a new investor (and new LLC), I would think banks would deny a loan due to lack of history? Any info or links to info would be helpful! Thanks!
