Canadian business Corp to buy

Hi guys. I am just checking in to see if any Canadian business owners had used the free cash/retained earnings to purchase rental real estate in the US? Did you form a separate Corp or held it within your Canadian entity. Any advise would be great appreciated. Cheers!
