Clarification - Real Estate Startup

Hi everyone, brand new to the site and looking forward to using it's resources.  I have a question that I'm sure can be answered here.

I am in South Carolina and about to become a licensed agent.  While doing due diligence to identify a broker to hang my license with, I'm realizing that my overwhelming preference is to launch my own company.  I understand the obstacles that exist going that route, however I really haven't been able to find clarification anywhere.

I understand I can't start a brokerage until I have had my license for 3 years, but couldn't I just partner with an existing broker to hang THEIR license on MY company until I am able to get the required experience and become a broker myself?  Basically give them a cut of the bottom line for being my company's broker?  Or is there something I'm missing saying that a company must be registered in the brokers name or something like that?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.
