A family business

hello all,

I have not yet began my journey in the real estate business, although, I intend to purchase our first rental property in the early months of 2016. It will be my brother and I starting out, we also have other family members and friends interested in joining us. I'm curious to know what the best structure or position of power would be on taking on anyone other than my brother and I. Also, is an LLC. The way to go? And as far as other investors in our "company" if you will, how should we handle them and their money to keep us and our property safe? Also open to any suggestions to our partnership. Thanks in advance, and as always I appreciate your time.
