So my wife and I are driving through the middle of Illinois on our way to Indianapolis. My phone is ringing and it's from a local # back in St. Louis. I don't know the number but figure what the heck why not answer it.

"Hello this is __________. A friend of mine told me that you guys buy houses and are good at what you do. Well actually it was a friend of my nephews who raved about you guys so here we are. Do you think you can help?"

How cool is that? We made an impression lasting enough that it made it through 2 people down the grapevine to an individual 30 miles away on the opposite side of town.

The referral came from a home I have under contract but haven't even closed on yet. If he's this happy with me wait till I give him thousands of dollars he has had tied up for years in a useless property!

Not to mention I know that If I personally recommend someone once I am very likely to recommend them again when the same topic comes up.

@Hasan Hamdan  Thank you very much. I strive to do everything with integrity. Our business plan consists of mutually beneficial relationships. While I may not buy the referrals property he now knows of me as an option as well. We offer finders fees that are clearly advertised on all of our business cards ( I'm looking forward to the day I get to pay one of those out!)

@Jerry Puckett  always told me that you never want to have to hide from someone in a grocery store. If I see an individual whose home I bought I want to be able to walk right up to them shake their hand and ask about the kids.
