Do I need the protection of the LLC

After three years of investing, I have acquired 3 units in central Florida. I live in California and have a fair amount of equity in my primary residence. I have good insurance policies on each one and an umbrella policy for $2,000,000. I feel like this is good protection. But the voice in my head tells me that I could do more. Is my insurance enough or should I look into the LLC option?
