How do I make my LLC into a brokerage?

Hello fellow people of BP! I am looking to get my broker's license in Illinois so that I can manage/lease rental properties (for myself and other owners) so not really as interested in the sales aspect but I want my LLC to be a brokerage so that I am not working under a different managing broker and paying fees. Would anyone be able to clarify how I can make this happen or is this even possible? I know that if you are a managing broker (broker for two years and extra coursework) you can also act as the sponsoring broker but are there any work arounds for the time being?

Well, it seems like you understand that there are two levels of licensure, whether you call it broker and agent, or managing broker and broker. however, you can't get around it. if you only have an agent's license, you have to hang your license with a broker. I don't believe there is anyway around that in this country. To make a LLC a brokerage, you would need the "higher" level broker's license so that you could register yourself as a broker.
