Rochester/Buffalo, NY Investors

Hello everyone. Rochester NY native, just graduated college looking to make a splash in Real Estate, specifically student housing. Curious how anyone who invests in this area got their start and would love to hear your story. Also, anyone who knows both the Rochester and Buffalo markets, I'm curious how the 19th ward, specifically below Brooks Avenue, compares to University heights near UB south campus in Buffalo as I lived there for a few years. Thanks!
