1031 personal to LLC exchange

Posted

Hey guys, I've been listening to your podcast for a few weeks. Can't stop. Won't stop. I'd ask my accountant and attorney this question but you're always telling me the forum guys are free so, here goes:

My husband and I own a condo in Florida. It's a long term rental. We live in Georgia. We are listing to sell next month and need to roll the funds into a 1031 exchange. My question is: Can we purchase the new property/properties under our LLC (single owner, currently holds two properties) instead of under both our names (a personal purchase)?

Thanks in advance!
