Partial disposition of property previously acquired in exchange
I have a client who completed a 1031 exchange during 2019. They exchanged one property owned by a SMLLC for an 80% interest in two properties (owned by the same SMLLC). They would now like to partially dilute their 80% interest. I don't believe that they could do this by adding members to the LLC, as there would then be a new entity owning the property. Is there some other way to accomplish this to get some cash out?
