If I want to get into real estate investing, should a license be acquire?

What if you get a broker license in your state do that license protect you for the other states or you have to get a brokerage license everywhere you go where wholesaling is illegal at.

What are the biggest obstacles that a licensed agent face when tring to get into investing? Wholesaling to be exact. Thanks in advance.
