After teaching for eight years in Kansas City area high schools, my partner and I got started in the rental business. We took a year of our free time and a lot of money to build a rental apartment in the basement of our home. Now we're hooked! We aim to build a portfolio of duplexes and multi-tenant properties in the coming years.
