I was talking with my father and low and behold he has a house that is just sitting there and he owes back taxes on as well.The thing about this house is that it will need a new foundation like a whole new foundation from footings on up. 

As the Brrrr strategy stands on its own legs without real/specific numbers, I'm inquiring into whether or not this strategy has merit from a thousand foot high viewpoint. 

I have a shed that is a foot too close to the property.

My assistant looks it up on the county website ... and WHOA ... it's an old Lumber baron's mansion. 4500 square feet. 8 bedrooms. 5 bathroom.

I can foot the bill out of pocket for most soft costs.

I first had to get all the court cases under control which meant totally buttoning the building up and literally shoveling foot tall by three foot in diameter piles of dried feces out of the place.

How many square inches are affected?

This can be roughly approximated by a price per square foot cost (3000 sq ft building $175sq/ft = $525k building coverage).

Haven't had many showings - I think the biggest issue in the neighborhood - once they step foot in the house they fall in love its just getting them to the front door.
