My comment on the fiat money system was not just to focus on precious metals as much as to recognize that our money system is not infallible and history has shown money systems such as ours becoming worthless and not too far in the past.

It’s amazing how many landlords don’t understand this I recognize that dog owners are not a protected class (at least not in my state!).  

The law does recognize that anyone who for years does not use their property, does nothing to maintain it, does not pay taxes and cannot be located through their contact info and addresses of record -has implicitly abandoned their real estate.

The IRS does not recognize managing rental properties reported on Schedule E as a business.
