@Robert Power If you are thinking you can buy a duplex and have one unit rent cover all of the expenses, that will not happen (except in very rare cases in very marginal/bad areas) in New Orleans.

The truth is that the reason there is a higher rate of break ins on construction projects is the thieves are confident a) there is no one there b) unlikely to have a big dog c) there are rarely active security systems, and d) noise isn't suspicious at a construction site.
