I am losing about $250/month once considering CapEx/repairs/vacancy savings, prop manager. i have renters in there and house is in good shape but as we all know, something could go down at any time. loan is at 2.75%, so, I would lose that....which amatorizes quick.

Now, I've taken a quick business trip there for 1 day recently and I'm aware that the northern part of the city is not really "culturally mixed" if that's ok to say.. 

I say this because the obvious reasons house hacking is attractive- but especially for vets because you can use your VA Loan to secure a great loan with possibly nothing down and a better interest rate- you can also have the funding fee waived if you, again, have any % disability which is great because that means no PMI and no funding fee- and finally you could do all that potentially without having to pay any property taxes.

I was just trying to have something quick for figuring out cash flow for properties I was analyzing

Compared to NY, annual taxes are pocket change and appreciation is happening very quickly.

Currently the SBA is loaning on storage units with an attractive package. 

Because I am having trouble finding one and I see that so many  people seem to find one pretty quickly

If you have some renovation/rehab experience, you might be better off focusing on looking for undervalued MF properties that need work that you can buy at an attractive discount.

@Hunter Eidmann rentals should rent quickly at market rent.

If it makes sense he can close quickly.
