All of this is curious of course because when FHFA first submitted the RFI the administration had already been leaking the idea about the Bulk REO/Rental concept, you can cross reference Google news and search by date to see what I mean by this.

1) ALWAYS get a detailed application. 2) Ask for references - landlord, personal and work related 3) Have THEM provide a current credit report - in my state that is legal - this way you create at least a "semi weeding-out" process right there.

Subject to or other forms of owner financing might let you get in cheaper, though may limit your choice of deals.
