If the LLC could take the property at a stepped up basis then way down the road when I sell the property I’d have a lower taxable income.Is my understanding of the situation correct?  

@Michael Corso  I understand your position and opinion of lenders that claim to do 100% financing, but you can't lump all companies claiming that into one group saying they don't exist or are predatory lenders. 

Without a basic understanding of your knowledge, experience, finances, and goals, we can't possibly answer your question other than to give you some generic advice.I recommend you build a strong foundational understanding of real estate investing.1.

And while I understand that a home inspector might not be a state or town code inspector they may be able to shed some light on safety concerns.I did run into this a little bit last year when buying my primary residence. 

The costs for repair are held in escrow until the contractor (you'll want one that understands the 203k process) completes the work and you sign off on it.

If I had to pass on one piece of information to my preinvesting self it would be "Learn and understand the difference between W2 income, hourly/salary work and investing income." 

The guy couldn't understand why Warren wanted him to stay after losing so much money. 

Listen to podcasts here, pick up a couple books written by investors that have done a lot of what you want to do and then take action once you understand.
