Instruct Lowes/HD to only release items you want released to the contractor and store the balance in the back until you release it.ORHave your contractor include the cost of materials plus labor and work out a payment schedule of 2-3 payments for the entire job.

I get my carpet at wholesale prices from a carpet store I have formed a relationship with, I get my kitchen cabinets from my cabinet maker, I get my hardwood flooring from two different sources, and I get all my stone and tile from a company my cousin works for.

Not trying to take credit blah, blah, but it's the simplest and quickest way, you simply fill the need instead of try to find a buyer for what you have, just like a retail store, they order what is in demand and what sells.
