My wife and I own a home in Lake Stevens WA and have a AirBnb in Glendale AZ that we went half in with my in-laws.I want to grow in Snohomish County WA in the Lake Stevens, Everett, Marysville Areas. 

I am in the process of purchasing a vacation/lake house (ie short term rental) with a self directed IRA and non-recourse loan. 

We are approaching 400 homes on the market in Salt Lake County under 700,000.

This particular area (Lake Worth) suffers from a shortage of the architects and engineers.  

For Disney area rentals, Osceoloa has the most STR communities, then come Polk and Lake....many of which are designed specifically as vacation/resort communities.

Salt Lake City is allowing ADUs on almost every property so that could be a great option.

We are now currently working on a AirBnB style lake rental in northern Minnesota.

I’d imagine the cost of fresh water and food will continue to increase in price and I’m wondering if the Great Lakes region might make an attractive diversification to our long-term portfolio.. the central location and access to fresh water should make it an attractive place to live but winters can be a bit unwelcoming. 

I just closed on a 1 bedroom 2 bath condo in Mammoth Lakes, CA.  

So I can work by the mountains, house at the lake, maybe even hit florida for the winter because I hate the cold.
