I lived in the lower mainland, and moved to the island about a year and a half ago.

With the military bases and retirees here there is still a lot going on down here during the off season once you get off of Okaloosa Island and away from Destin.

Hello James,You should be able to make some nice profit on that 100k doing flips right on Long Island especially in Suffolk County.The barriers to entry are much lower than the high cost NYC real estate market.

So I figured I'd throw it out here and see what everyone's take is.My wife and I just sold our house in Long Island and want to escape NY and are moving down to the Florida panhandle.  

I'm not opposed to spending a few nights a week there my self however.The building is off of 290 and Austin, the neighborhood is apparently called "the island", a sub-hood of the Austin area i guess?
