I have added video cameras onsite for security and being able to monitor the property from a distance, and then I have found a local handyman that is interested in learning the business to do the weekly maintenance, cleanouts, etc.

Some other things to consider before going the short-term route are what your city laws are and if they are monitoring Airbnb/actively pursuing them and if you rent a condo, if there are any HOA limitations.

I could have waited for additional offers and since I was monitoring sales in the area using Trulia, I’m sure another good offer could have come, but the construction and the fear of another break-in wore me down.The title company was also very poor at communicating and managing the closing.
