My guess is there will be far more avenues of help available because of Harvey.These services usually need the tenant to receive a 3-day notice to pay or vacate to help.

In your ad you can't say that this property is close to "The So-and-So Church", or "Perfect for couples" or anything else that would show that you are targeting a certain type of people.I specify that income must be at least 3x that of the rent, and since my rent is on the higher end, I usually get better people wanting to apply.

.- My goal is to follow Scott Trench's ideas in Set for Life and hopefully rent a room for under $1200/month to save some extra cash and use it along with my current savings to buy and house hack a duplex/triplex/fourplex in 4-12 months in the Oakland/Emeryville area.- I consider myself very handy since I have renovated my entire house 99% by myself and pulled permits.
