I'm in NC and think it has to do with the way franchise tax is calculated on an S Corp versus an LLC, and that it can be based on assets inside the entity, thus driving it up for real estate holding companies in an S Corp, versus a flat $200 fee for an LLC.

Investors will always be trying to nickel and dime you and get something for nothing.....Just my .02 based on experience (a lot of it:-)North Carolina, from my knowledge, GC licensing is definitely not easy here but I don’t know if it’s harder than the bar exam!

The Triad Greensboro Winston-Salem is my other primary market  I have almost 100 units in the Triad currently under contract or under LOI at the moment  Just closed a 64 unit deal in Salisbury NC. 

House is in coastal NC where weather hardly ever goes below freezing.  

Are there any things we need to learn about the NC real estate market?
