This will vary by state but in MD you file for a "Writ of Possession" However you probably can't do that until any redemption period is over.

I've also used public-record.com for code violations and divorces, i've gone to the county court house to get probate files (which many include the administrators phone number) and also list source for out of state owners and pre-foreclosure lists.
