I've been studying the real estate business, reading these forums and listening to podcasts from BiggerPockets and others, and I am ready to take the next steps toward realizing my goals of being a profitable, successful real estate investor.Looking to network with any like-minded individuals who want to do winning deals, or even just chat about the business.I'm located in the greater Los Angeles area.

I loved there for about 11 years, San Diego (la jolla area) and Los Angeles (Westwood).  

For people investing in Los Angeles, Bay Area, etc. they "make up" for it with a combination of (generally) increasing rents and appreciation.

In Downtown Los Angeles , there are many of these older buildings that are SROs that are zoned like that permanently and are only for low income individuals. 

Here it goes - I'm representing my uncle to purchase a property in the Los Angeles area.

The finalists, named by the company are Toronto, Columbus, Indianapolis, Chicago, Denver, Nashville, Los Angeles, Dallas, Austin, Boston, New York City, Newark, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Montgomery County, Washington, D.C., Raleigh, Northern Virginia, Atlanta, and Miami.

@Russell Brazil if they, say, move to Los Angeles (long shot but a guy can dream), most folks agree that it will be in the little suburb (where I happen to live and invest) of Santa Clarita.Yes you are right that Los Angeles as a whole would largely be unaffected, but this would be a big win for Santa Clarita.And I imagine it'd be a similar story wherever they locate the second HQ.That being said, I think taking advantage of something like this requires familiarity with the specific location the HQ will be located and is not as simple as, "Oh they're moving to Indy?
