So rather than one house for a family, you may have two (weekend get away) or three (if the parents are not living together and one has a weekend home).

There is a chance this might work...If you are single, living with your parents, no wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend/kids, and parents pay for your living expenses, and like Joe said, you have over 70% equity on the value.

If you can have one of your parents add your name to a credit card to use ( and pay off each month), that will get you started.

I wouldn't have problems living next to a school, but I live in an area where kid still walk to school and there isn't a line up of parents waiting in their cars to pick their kids up or drop them off. 

If they break stuff they or their parents typically pay for said damage.
