Next i would have to say all these older houses have lathe and plaster instead of drywall which in some respects are easy to repair in the case of smaller dings and holes but when you get whole walls that are in need of repair we found it easier after much trial and error just to tear it out and drywall it. 

We found that it is much easier to avoid charging for service pets.

They determine it was easier for long term management if they didn't have to deal with the FHA compliance.

Duplexes are much easier to find and if you're planning to house hack, this might be a better prospect to start with.

There are beautiful laminte choices.

Your agent should provide tons of info on the 'machine' itself - ie cleaners, repairmen, service choices (ie cable, internet, pests, CLEANERS)... if they don't - why are you using them!?

Do you prioritize cash flow over easier management?
