If you have woodworkers in your area who want maple slabs you may be able to sell the trunk in pieces for some worthwhile money.Maybe try fishing in the woodworking forums, (will be cutting old maple on x/x/xxxx open to all offers for the wood) plus a pic of the tree and one of it's green leaves.Some of these guys will drive quite a way to get their precious slabs (which the turn into bars and tables and etc, and sell to well off people as custom made furniture).They like parts best where limbs grow out of the trunk (the grain is different).I've not done this, but I have seen it done.Good Luck!

We are looking at an above asking price offer (with our offer resulting in the returns above) with a 30 day to close (NOTE: This is an estate property).We do have an option for a loan from a local bank but they require 30 days to close barring any hiccups.

If so, then it is likely the buyer must go through with the deal barring some applicable contingency in the contract.
