I recently purchased a duplex and the garage is being rented out by another party.

How would you handle this case and future cases?

I’m from the Houston area and imagine many in this group are!.  

Not to mention the FED meets this week and are expected to drop the FED rate by .25 basis points.

You might have done this already but maybe calling some agents there or finding property management companies in that area? 

So before you get ready to attempt to rip your Landlord a new one, first go take it up with the local taxing authority, then go have it out with the insurance industry, then gripe to the neighborhood HOA (if applicable), then maybe settle your disputes with Home Depot/Lowes and any and all trade contractors.
