The numbers of building permit for Houston and Dallas is a surprise, but too generalize for me.

To my surprise I found beautiful, perfectly sized red potatoes.

Drywall isn't see-through, and there is always something unexpected after you open up a wall.Don't force the numbers, also called eraser math.

They had a 0 adjusted basis, which I was surprised at, but seller owned the property on a ground lease. 

I would be surprised if you can get a loan for that small amount.

I'm surprised.

At the time I chose to say nothing at all, but here you are dragging me back in ;) I often feel like a broken record but I am going to say it again anyway...if you do not really know New Orleans you are in for more than a few surprises, whether we are talking real estate or not.

Glad to be a member, surprised it took me this long to be a member.  

I am unsure what type of investing you wish to do, but as a small landlord, I can say the unexpected happens.
