I think you'll find the tax structure of being self employed (along with the obvious freedom, stress, exhilaration and all the other adjectives that come with a massive change in life) favorable to your former W2 life.

The bank didn't do a full appraisal, but instead used an online system called an AVM appraisal, and said my home is worth $198K.

I don't know of any meetings in our area currently, but there are several good ones online.

You can accept applications, do background/credit checks, and collect payments all online.

@Debbra BrackettThere's a lot of online RTA cabinet companies that have similar price points as the Lowes or Home Depot option, but that are far better quality.  

-one of my concerns is my lack of knowledge when it comes to handy work (can barely put together a chair I ordered online) I know it’s a common concern are there are ways to offset costs from contractors, but any advice here would Be appreciated.
