Ditto, the fact that by living in one of the units you are not earning a lot of the return as income, but rather as money that doesn't have to be spent on rent/mortgage on a primary residence.I'd love to hear what some of the more experienced guys have to say regarding the tax angle, esp. regarding the effect of you living in one of the units.Anyway, congrats again on what looks to be a great investment!

If surveys are used in your area, that could be a $300-$1000 + expense to verify that the property lines are correct & that the buildings are actually on the property, and title phrase is *really* concerning, because you're effectively required to verify title - which could be an additional expense - with no guarantee the deal will close.

I recently purchased a house which managed by Action Property Managment.During inspection of home, inspector addressed several trees are causing foundation issue with their roots and many vegitations are not taken cared at all.I pay assotion fee which includes common area (my front yard) to be maintained by association (managment company).After contacted the APM about 2 month ago, they promised to take care issue yet nothing has been done.
