@Ryan D., That’s a tough market when 2% can kill a deal like that.

Now, here are the options...In a southern suburb of Chicago (not a HORRIBLE one, but D or C class for sure) called Lansing, there are a couple of 1b1b condos available for purchase at around 40k, most others start at 50 or 55k. 

Fort Jackson might be a play to go for, but not a fan of class D-B areas .

I would hate to install a stacked washer and dryer (or any appliance) only to find out I picked out an unreliable, costly, model. Does anyone have any advice on any particular make and model, whether it's good or bad?

I think I need to have an open mind when it comes to neighborhoods but definitely not with a D neighborhood.

Suggest not to mess with class D properties.

The reason you should check this is that sometimes the electrician will say you need to replace the outlets, switches, fixtures, wiring, breaker panel, meter socket, meter, the transformer outside, and the power plant across town, but maybe you don't actually have to do that much
