If it is sold in your names then you must purchase in your names.If you dissolved that LLC and distributed it into your names a year before selling then your new ownership would meet the intent test with no problem.

I use Zillow Rental Manager to collect rents - it is free for everyone unless the tenant uses a credit card to pay the rent, I use Stessa to track my expenses and income on the rental properties; TurboTenant to list my properties for rent(free).
