Definitely sign up for some of the webinars, read Brandons book that he mentioned above, and check out a lot of the podcasts they have on Youtube, all of those will be a great help to you.  

- Companies like Keller Williams, First Team and the like will provide training and exam prep in return for a promise to sign up with them.

Just document it well.I wouldn't invest unless there is a good ROI, but they are bonus reasons to invest outside of your home market on top of the ROI.If you have any other questions let me know.

I should mention that the building will be very close to where I live (a nice bonus), is in a lower income (mid $30k per household) area.

You take the certificate (and some other information) and sign up for the exam through Pearson Vue https://home.pearsonvue.com/.I will say that Pearson Vue has some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered.
