Anyway, I'll just be making it rentable for now, then really gussying it up next year.)The idea of getting insurance requoted also made me think that I might want to do that after renovations, though it will presumably increase my insurance, it will also better reflect what is in the property and its actual value should something happen.One thing you mentioned was washer/dryers in the units.

But you are buying a bit of a fixer if it has been a rental for 8 years, so market value should reflect that.

We actually end up paying less to lease my Audi Q5 than it costs to own my wifes VW Jetta when factoring tax savings and maintenance savings. ( All my maintenance is included in my lease)a cute movie that reflects this is Tin Man with Danny devitto they are 50s siding salesmen.. and the front of the office is one caddilac after the other lined up.when I grew up in my dads land sales business the ride of the day.. was a Jeep Wagoneer with the faux wood paneling.. but now a days you can buy a nice new Mercedes small one for under 40k..

The problem with saying housing to revert to the norm as some pundits say is it doesn't reflect supply and demand, it doesn't reflect mortgage and it doesn't reflect the interest rate/inflation policy at a particular phase.
