Not really, Haider is spot on.  

Your sweet spot might be well maintained (functional) but fugly homes needing cosmetic updates.

We find the 1/1s to actually be the sweet spot.

All you want/need is some support under the plank so you don't have a void that would cause some focal stress on one part of the plank because there is nothing under that spot.

I'm in the process of selling my home, and the home inspection found some minor evedince of mold on the basement, Its like 3 quarter size spots.

I just dont want it dead.Personally, given everything you've described, I would try to find a way to reduce the likelihood that an unclean filter would leave dead spots.
