This works well for specialized fields, i.e. finance, engineering, math, etc.

First step is to make sure you understand what the City will allow and then hire an engineer/architect team to put plans together for you and help with permitting, if needed.

We just got an ADU permit approved and it took 10 months and about $12,000 just for structural/engineering costs with city fees.
