Some people want extra income for retirement, to fund religious missions, control over their investments, tax advantages, freedom from their job, funding for their kids’ future, etc.

I had my kids scrub the garage floors with bleach and push brooms.

That way they won't have to worry or hassle about the moving either or changing schools if they have kids and they like it. 

You might start with this and then go south from Austin to find an affordable rental to try to BRRRR closer to God's Country...I mean, San Antonio.Just kidding.  

I am 30 years old with 2 kids and my wife stays at home.

I’m not sure if they’ve considered doing that, but I think in their minds, the simple solution was to have two houses - one for each child.I guess another option, similar to what you’re suggesting, would be for them to just buy a single home in Vegas to be split 50/50 between the kids, and put away the rest of the cash.

All kidding aside, there’s actually not a lot of literature on what to do with larger amounts of wealth.

Kids want their own rooms, or couples want an office.  

We have no kids and no pets (although if you're determined, kids nor pets should necessarily stop you from this either).
