I have a couple connections in San Diego, however, I'd prefer to invest outside of California in a city that has shown an increase in population growth over the past couple years and also leans on the landlord friendly side.I understand how difficult the process will be when investing from afar, however, I recognize that there are fewer differences between investing in say, Arkansas, from California, than investing in the same home from China.

@Brian Reinholz the banks recognize that your previous property will make you income, so they look at it differently as far as debt to income ratio.

I passed my real estate exam and am interviewing brokerages to hold my license and also to learn the tops of the business from that side.

In the meantime, I've also been interviewing buying agents, loan officers, and real estate attorneys to assemble my team.

You interview brokers based on where you want to operate. 

I've done a bunch of interviews with out-of-state investors who talk about what they look for.

Hi @Nia Dixon we have interviewed two investors who are making their way with short term rentals, Zeona McIntyre and Mike Sjorgen and I know they coach.

I interviewed more than one before settling on the office I went with.
