If you're nervous about the market, slow down and educate yourself, look for new avenues, and then jump back in.

Granted, we've slowed down a bit, but slowing isn't the same as struggling.You didn't give us much info about yourself, where you're from, what your strategy is (flip, buy and hold, etc) so it's hard to know where to begin giving useful advice. 

The past several years were pretty heated, so any normalization is going to feel like a slow down. 

And then CA DRE is freaking ridiculously slow to process paperwork.
