I agree that crosslinking is valuable, but if we start allowing people to pitch every one of their blog articles in the forums as well, then the forums just become a link factory once again -- something we want to avoid.

George P, It seems like you received a great deal of valuable input, but let me just add a comment/two.Important: When doing your General "Due Diligence" check with your County Office for all lien types that may be attached to the property (e.g, 1st and 2nd mortgages, mechanic liens, and IRS Liens, etc..).

"Driving for dollars" can be effective but I think it's more common to find yourself wasting valuable time without getting any results...it just depends on the area.You can also use Craigslist to post adds looking for deals.
